Singer Gwen Stefani and country star Blake Shelton met on “The Voice” when they were judges. They started dating in 2015. They made several musical partnerships such as “Nobody But You”, “Happy Anywhere” and “You Make It Feel Like Christmas”.
The singers got engaged five years later, in October 2020. But they kept their wedding date a secret.
The long-awaited big day took place on July 3, 2021. The ceremony was very intimate and the reception outdoors. The exchange of vows took place in a chapel built by Shelton – the same one where he proposed to Gwen, on his farm in Oklahoma. Two of the singer's children were chosen to be witnesses, Kingston, 15 years old, and Zuma, 12. Carson Daly, producer of the American "The Voice" was the one who conducted the ceremony and married the friends. The complete list had around 40 guests among close friends and family.
In the decoration, there were white tents mounted on Gwen's ranch and a long dining table ornate with lamps and bright chandeliers. In front of the table on the stone stairs, on which silver lanterns and candles have been placed for soft, romantic lighting. The decoration, well suited to an outdoor ceremony, also featured tasteful country details. The perfection of the decor was the credit of wedding planner Crystal Moriaty and designer Todd Fiscus, both from his namesake company, Todd Events.
For the special day, Gwen wore two dresses, one long and one short. The two were signed by the darling stylist of many celebrities at the time of the wedding, Vera Wang. The singer followed the decoration proposal, adapting to the country environment and chose a pair of white boots — which, incidentally, stole the show. The pointed-toe boots had silver trim near the toes and heels and came to mid-calf. The ceremony dress was a custom lily white silk georgette model with a plunging neckline and plunging back. The skirt was high and low tulle. On the hem of the veil were hand-embroidered the names of her, Blake, and her three children: Kingston, Zuma, and Apollo.
Completing the bride's look were stacked bracelets, a cross necklace, a tight bun and red lipstick, which is the singer's trademark. For the reception, Gwen opted for a strapless tulle minidress, handcrafted with embroidered silk foliage, crystal and sequins delicately flowing from the waist down the skirt. The embroidery featured two lovebirds sewn by hand, symbolizing the couple and joined by 3 lovebirds representing Gwen's children.
The groom also embraced his country roots and donned signature blue jeans accompanied by a black tuxedo and vest blazer, a white button-up shirt, and a white bow tie.
Every detail of the party was carefully thought out. And a proof of this was the beautiful wedding cake with several layers and a vintage look. The cake was created by the famous boutique wedding cake shop, Fancy Cakes by Lauren, and honored Gwen's parents. It was a replica of the bride's parents' wedding cake. Beautiful and affectionate tribute, isn't it?
