The wedding of Princess Diana's niece, Lady Kitty Spencer, to South African tycoon Michael Lewis took place on the last weekend of July 2021. The celebration lasted the three days of the weekend.
And contrary to what one might imagine, the chosen location was not the family property in England, but the Villa Aldobrandini in Frascati, Italy. But, as is typical of most high society weddings, the party continued elsewhere, at Villa Aurelia, a 17th-century Roman mansion. Lady Kitty and Michael had been engaged since 2019. However, due to the pandemic, the 30-year-old model and the multimillionaire businessman had to postpone the wedding celebration.
There were several days of celebration, which began with a bachelorette party in Firenze, followed by parties in Rome. The guests were received at the Hotel de la Ville on Friday. And they received from the bride and groom a straw bag with the colors of the Italian flag and the word “baci” embroidered, which means kisses in Portuguese. To end the day, dinner was offered at the luxurious Galleria Del Cardinale. On Saturday there was lunch.
Lady Kitty is the daughter of former British model Victoria Aitken and nobleman Charles Spencer, who was Princess Diana's younger brother. The bride's brothers Louis Spencer, Viscount Althorp and Samuel Aitken dy Kitty Spencer accompanied her down the aisle. The sisters, the twins Eliza and Amelia were also present. Lady Kitty is the cousin of Princes William and Harry, who were unable to attend. Among the guests were other well-known names such as Emma Weymouth and Ceawlin Thynn, Marquesses of Bath; pop star Pixie Lott; Idris Elba's wife, Sabrina Elba; Made In Chelsea star Mark Vandelli, and model and Elon Musk mother Maye Musk. The absence that Iais chamou a atenção foi a do pai de Lady Kitty. Não se sabe o motivo de tal ausência.
Lady Kitty is a Dolce & Gabbana brand ambassador, so, as expected, her dress was signed by the brand. The model was all lace, with a high collar and long sleeves that had volume on the shoulders. The inspiration for the dress was in the Victorian style, according to those responsible for the brand. The look was even more stunning with the train and headdress that were used. The Spencer tiara, unfortunately, was left out of the composition. At other times during the celebrations, the bride's outfits were also from Dolce & Gabbana. The choice for dinner the night before was a blue tulle dress with a strapless neckline and pink flowers. On Sunday, which was the last day of the celebration, the bride chose to wear a short white dress with 3D flowers.
In addition to the beautiful models of dresses signed by Dolce & Gabbana, high jewelry was used by Lady Kitty to complement the charming looks. Fashion, however, was not the only highlight of the event. Just like the bride's outfits, the wedding decor was also very much in the Dolce & Gabbana style. Flowers in shades of pink, brocade tablecloths and golden chairs set the scene.
The party took over the gardens and also the interior. The hydrangea garden, in particular, had a particular beauty and charm. Despite not being Buckingham Palace, at Villa Aldobrandini there was also a balcony available for the bride and groom to toast together with the guests. And so it was done, complete with a fireworks show. Is it or isn't it a princess wedding?
